GUNS N ROSES - Absurd SINGLE REVIEW

"Absurd" was released as a single on August 6, 2021. The song marks the group's first release of new material since the release of Chinese Democracy in 2008. it is also the first new track to feature guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan since the 1994 release of "Sympathy for the Devil". Originally written during the Chinese Democracy sessions, "Absurd" was first performed live in 2001 as "Silkworms". The reworked version made its live debut on August 3, 2021 in Boston.

This song had a mixed reception to the fans, some give positive receive review while others give a negative feedback. For me the track is good it give a fresh sound on GNR. It show different influences from industrial rock, electronic, punk and hard rock. I could see that this track has more with the likes of Chinese democracy era mixed the aggressiveness of Appetite for Destruction era. I love the instrumentation, the guitars played by Slash and Richard’s displayed the aggressiveness and formulating an amazing riffs. It gives me and eargasm on the riffs. The drum plays executed by Frank is awesome and it gives a fresh sound to the fans. One of the weak points on the song is Axl’s song execution, the voice effects on his sings is kinda annoying and doesn’t fit on the song.

I could say that this song would cause a divide from the old fans and the new fans of GNR, if you’re fan of Appetite of Destruction to Use Your Illusion era you would be surprised on disappoint the sound that they delivered on this song, but if you’re a fan of Chinese democracy, you would also enjoy listening this track.

Overall it is a brand new listening experience when you listen this track.
